A few things to know
What happens after the free trial?
The trial lasts 30 days and includes all desktop features. After it ends, you can still view and export existing data; adding and editing content will stop. Bring your own AI key; model provider charges are separate.
What does the lifetime license include?
One license covers 3 devices, with self-service unbinding, a permanent desktop license, and lifetime desktop version updates. Future SaaS sync and other services are excluded. The standard license is $39 USD, paid once. Buy securely through Dodo Payments.
Where are my notes stored?
Your vault lives in a local folder you choose. Documents are Markdown files, with a local database for indexing. You can back up the vault yourself. When you use AI, relevant content is sent to your selected model provider.
What do I need to use AI?
Configure a compatible model provider and your own API key. Your API key is stored locally and sent only to your chosen AI provider to authenticate requests, not to the Fluid Wiki licensing service. Your provider charges for model usage, and online models require an internet connection. Semantic search also requires an embedding model.
Can I work offline?
You can read and edit local notes without an online model. Online AI, web search, and downloads require a connection. Local storage does not mean online AI requests stay on your device.
Which platforms are available?
Windows x64 is available through Microsoft Store or a direct installer. macOS is available as a universal DMG for Intel and Apple Silicon. The Mac release is not notarized by Apple and may require manual approval on first launch; see the Mac installation instructions on the download page.
Is Fluid Wiki open source? Can I buy it here?
Fluid Wiki is proprietary software. All rights reserved. Download the client or purchase a lifetime desktop license here. The standard license is $39 USD; an activation code is delivered by email after payment verification. Use the same purchase email when activating your license. AI provider costs are separate from the client license.
